History

Honington Foxes was founded in 2006 by a group of local parents who found their options were limited locally if their children wanted to play football beyond primary school age.

Several of the parents were familiar with the facilities available at the RAF Honington site where there were not only outdoor, but indoor pitches available. Having spoken to the powers that be at the site, permission was granted for youngsters to access the pitches and training areas which gave youngsters signing up the opportunity to utilise some of the best year round facilities for miles around.

The club started off with two under-10 teams with 17 children and by the second year there was enough interest from youngsters locally for the club to introduce teams for under 13s and 14s and this soon became five teams going from under-10s up to under-15s and the club has continued to develop ever since.

The club currently runs two teams: under-8s and under-9s and is actively seeking new players for next season to add to existing teams and for new 2019/2020-season. We also welcome input from parents who wish to get involved with the club, either as committee members or as coaches themselves. We can even arrange for budding coaches to attend FA Level 1 courses.
